GR District Haiti Project

GRAND RAPIDS DISTRICT VIM TEAM TO HAITI

From February 1-12 a group of 11 people, led by Rev. Paul Doherty, was supposed to travel to Haiti as representatives from the GR District, then the earthquake happened. At this point the mission trip is on hold. GR District Africa University Initiative

AU Choir Tour Postponed - from Laurie Haller

This week the Grand Rapids Africa University Initiative task force made the difficult decision to postpone the AU choir tour this summer. The kick-off for our initiative was to raise money for "Fellowship House" at AU, a retreat center where mission teams and people participating in educational exchanges could stay. We received permission from the Annual Conference Program Committee and our Conference Council on Ministries to take an offering this spring for Fellowship House in every church in our conference. That money would be brought to annual conference and presented when the Africa University Choir was singing. The choir would then spend a few weeks touring in West Michigan, with all monies raised from free will offerings to go to the construction of Fellowship House.
