Trip to the Holy Land

Travel to the Holy Land with Bishop Keaton

People from across the Michigan area are invited to join Bishop Keaton February 8-17, 2011 on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Visit such sites as Capernaum, Nazareth, Jericho, Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Sail across the waters of the Sea of Galilee and experience a time of worship together. Remember your baptism at the River Jordan and celebrate holy communion near the Garden Tomb. Take a dip in the mineral laden waters of the Dead Sea. Visit Bethlehem Bible College and Princess Basma Hospital and experience their ministries to the people of Palestine. The group will hear three lectures, including a contemporary dialogue on the situation of Palestine/Israel. The cost is around $2,500 and includes round-trip airfare from Detroit or Grand Rapids, hotel stay, breakfast and dinner daily, taxes, tips and surcharges.

United Methodist Community House (UMCH) Friend of Youth Golf Outing

Help support United Methodist Community House (UMCH) by participating in the 19th Annual "Friend of Youth" Golf Outing, presented by the Optimist Club of Grand Rapids, with proceeds going to support inner-city youth through the UMCH Summer Kids Camp at Camp Optimist. This event, which will include on-course contests, raffle prizes, a cook-out and an award ceremony, is scheduled for Monday, August 23, at the Highlands Golf Course. 9:00 AM Shotgun Start; 12:00 PM Luncheon. United Methodist Community House (UMCH) Make It Count Luncheon

The 2nd Annual Lifeline for a Lifetime Luncheon Event, this year entitled "Make It Count", is planned for Thursday, August 5, 2010, Noon - 1PM, in the Wege Ballroom of Aquinas College. This educational and inspirational fundraiser for UMCH will feature songs by children in our program and our Senior Choir, a video presentation, testimonials from program participants, and remarks from the new UMCH Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Richard Clanton.
