GR District Stewardship Gatherings with Ken Sloane
On Monday, May 10 the Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane, Director of Communications at UM Communications in Nashville, will be here to present a program entitled, "Together We Can: Celebrating United Methodist Giving."
There are two opportunities to attend this presentation:
- 9:30am -11:30am at Crestwood UMC in Muskegon
- 7pm-9pm at Genesis UMC in Grand Rapids

Fall Lay Speaking Classes Offered
The next Lay Speaking classes will be offered on Saturdays, October 9 and 30 at Grand Haven Church of the Dunes UMC, 717 Sheldon Rd., Grand Haven.

Fall Lithuania Mission Trip - Participants Wanted
Cornerstone UMC is sponsoring a mission trip to Lithuania, September 25 - October 5, 2010. There are spots left to fill on this team. The trip cost is approximately $2,500 per person. It's a basic construction and outreach trip for a country that's living at 15% unemployment.

Professional Association of UMC Secretaries
The PAUMCS Certification Institute will be held July 18-23 in Atlanta, Georgia. The registration fee for the 2010 Institute is $315, which includes course materials, continental breakfast, some lunches and dinners. New Feature for the Connection: "Growing Together on the District"
|
This is a new feature of the weekly Connection where GR District churches can coordinate ministries, develop partnerships and promote the sharing of resources. This information exchange directly relates to the GR District vision statement "Growing Together and Reaching Out". Examples of information exchange can include topics like: "Adult Sunday School Materials Needed" to "It Worked for Us" examples. - Coopersville UMC has 4-6 (9th-12 Grade) youth who would like to go on a mission trip. Is there a church that they could go on a mission trip with? Please contact Rev. John Morse at Coopersville UMC 616.997.9225.
- The Wesley Fellowship at GVSU is in search of a 15 passenger van or a full sized van for our spring break mission trip to Florida, March 5-14. Any leads would be appreciated at this point.
